Made from super-tough and wear-resistant PA 66, the downtube protector is bolted on and can be easily replaced. It is designed to wrap around the bottom bracket and thus provide extra protection for the side walls of the downtube from impacts and scratches. Additionally, the rubber chainstay and seatstay guards help prevent unwanted noise from the drivetrain.
In addition to the double-sealed industrial bearings used, all pivot points are equipped with an additional seal to keep water and dirt at bay, this protects the bearings and extends their service life.
To optimize the weight to performance ratio, the contact surfaces for the integrated headset are pre-formed directly in the frame. Additionally, the ZeroStack design ensures a high level of durability thanks to the integrated bearing shells.
Situated at the lower shock mount, the Flip Chip makes it quick and easy to adjust the geometry according to the terrain and riding style. The low position provides for a more aggressive headtube angle and a bigger BB drop, ideal for fast and rough tracks. In the high position, the headtube angle is 0.5 degrees steeper and the BB is higher. The higher BB gives more ground clearance and better performance on longer steep climbs.
For optimal protection, all cables are routed almost completely through the frame. They are guided through the chainstay with internal cable tubes, while they are wrapped in foam as they pass through the main frame to reduce weight and at the same time prevent noise. All cable ports are protected against the ingress of dirt and water with cable plugs. Additionally, the cables are secured on the head tube with cable clamps and they are routed over the main pivot to prevent chafing.
Our award-winning V4L suspension technology provides sensitivity off the top, with good mid-stroke support and plenty of end-stroke progressivity. The nice pop helps get the bike airborne whenever wanted, while the end-stroke progressivity makes sure the rear shock doesn't bottom out even on monster jumps. The high amount of anti-squat keeps the rear suspension neutral and improves pedal efficiency.
While the EP801 may look like its predecessor, don't be fooled – this is an all-new beast. Under the hood, updates include higher peak power, enhanced high-cadence acceleration, and improved weather sealing to limit dirt, grit, and grime ingress. Settings are simple to tune through the E-TUBE PROJECT app, and when combined with select Shimano drivetrains, this motor unlocks Shimano FREE SHIFT and AUTO SHIFT features to enhance your flow.
We developed the 540 Wh battery ourselves to get more power in a smaller space. So we were able to fully integrate the battery into the down tube and also realize the clean look of a YT on the DECOY. For dependable performance and long lasting power, we use thirty battery cells of the very latest technology. The battery is fully integrated in the downtube and is held in place by two dedicated bolts. The battery can be charged both on and off the bike, and the cover, which protects the cells and electronic inside, is easy to replace in case of damage.
The On/Off switch is tucked away underneath the toptube, which protects it against damage and dirt while also giving the frame a clean look.
The Fork Impact Protection prevents damage to the frame in case of a crash or a failure of the Acros BlockLock headset. The Acros BlockLock headset limits the range of motion of the fork in order to protect the frame.
