Your tasks
Sales & Margin Planning: 
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve business objectives across channels. Determining the best pricing strategy across regions based on both cost and competitor offerings. Analyse sales data and market trends to forecast future sales performance. Set margin targets and work closely with the finance team to ensure profitability. Ensure optimal usage of markdown budget
Assortment & Inventory Planning:
  • Determine the optimal product assortment to meet customer demand and market trends. Monitor inventory levels and work with the supply chain team to ensure product availability timely replenishment and limit overstocks. Developing sales strategies for products with slow sell-through rates and for products in the transition period between two generations.
Open-to-Buy Management:
  • Develop and manage ‘open-to-buy’ budgets. Monitor and influence the adjustment of purchasing & financial plans based on sales performance and inventory levels.
Sales Reporting: 
  • Analyse trading patterns and adjust plans to optimize sales and inventory turnover. Provide regular reporting and insights on sales trends and recommend actions where required. Conduct regular competitor analysis to stay informed about market trends, pricing strategies, and new product launches. 
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the front-end web shop team to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies. Communicate effectively across dependent to align and deliver objectives and plans. Collaborate with the product team to shape the future of the category.

What you'll bring

The bike market is no secret for you, you have a deep knowledge of the players, the trends, and the consumer demand. You have extensive experience owning a category on a brand or distributor level, ideally within a DTC business model. While experience within the bike industry is not a pre-requisite, a strong interest and/or association with mountain biking is. You are keen to take on broad responsibility in a fast-paced environment, setting the tone for the development of our bikes business.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in merchandise planning, e-commerce, and team leadership.

For this position, we expect:
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in retail, e-commerce, marketing, operations, or business management.
  • Proven track record in growing a business area and increasing revenue in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated data-driven decision making or quantitative analysis skills.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, German is a plus.
  • Open and positive attitude.
  • Hands-on mentality, problem-solving and organizational skills
Preffered qualifications:
  • University degree in a business relevant field.
  • Content Management System experience such as Shopware, Magento or Shopify.
  • Knowledge in working with an ERP system such as SAP is a significant advantage.
  • Experience in leading complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellence in Excel.
