The user of a YT Industries bike/ frame is required to exercise due care and regularly maintain the product. Wear and tear parts must be replaced as needed according to manufacturer’s specifications.
The YT Industries Warranty includes all
- Manufacturing defects
- Processing defects
- Material defects
Wear and tear parts are excluded from warranty claims
- Bearing shafts
- Ball bearings incl. seals and lubricants (groove ball bearing/ angular ball bearing/ needle bearing etc.)
- Slide bearings
- Guides and seals of spring elements
- Drive train components (chain/ sprocket/ chain rings / freewheeling)
- Brake pads
YT Industries guarantees free remedy or replacement
In the unlikely case of manufacturing, processing or material defects the following requirement must comply:
- The objectionable product is returned postage paid together with a picture of the full bike incl. all mounting parts, a description of malfunction and a copy of the invoice.
- YT Industries cannot accept shipments on freight collect basis.
YT Industries will not cover any shipping costs! - Whether the objectionable product shall be returned separately or whether the entire bike shall be returned must explicitly be cleared with YT Industries.
- The product has been appropriately used according to its design and purpose and it has been maintained in compliance with the assembly instruction.
- The used parts comply with the original set-up or have been assessed expressly and in writing by YT Industries as suitable for operation. (This also applies to wear and tear parts and lubricants)
- If any parts, other than the parts explicitly recommended by YT Industries, have been mounted, the burden of proof for function, compatibility and operational safety devolves to the respective assembler of these components.
- Qualified personnel have made all repairs on the product.
- No technological changes or modifications are made to the product.
- The correct use of YT Industries products must be respected in any case.
Excluded from the warranty are damages clearly or covertly caused by incorrect use. - YT Industries has attributed and warrented the faulted technical and visual characteristics to the respective product at date of manufacture.
- We reserve the right to repair damaged frames and forks or replace them with a new model. This is the only claim under guarantee, costs for assembly, transport, etc are not covered.
- Cracks related to the fatigue strength of the frame.
- This is the only warranty entitlement. Extra costs, such as mounting, transport, etc. will not be covered.
The following voids all warranty claims
- Use of high-pressure cleaners or harsh detergents that have corroded bearings or seals. (This also applies to the warranty of spring elements and brake systems)
- Subsequent damage occurs, caused by continuous operation of the bike with maladjusted, defect or worn-out bearings or defect spring elements.
- Corrosion at bearings occurs due to lack of care or maintenance and false storage of the product.
- Powder coating is damaged in areas, where other attached parts are mounted (non-warranted property)
- It is due to the technical properties of coating powder that powder coating may chip off at certain parts, e.g. dropouts. For resulting surface blemishes there is no claim under warranty.
- On bikes made for extreme use such as downhill, dirt jump or freeride, stress cracks may occur in the powder coating at main load areas – for stress cracks there is no claim under warranty.
- Deformation of the frame. This is the result of overload and thus a sign of incorrect use.
- Bent or broken derailleur hanger (mounting point for the rear derailleur). This is a result of overload or incorrect adjustment. This part is a predetermined breaking point, which protects frame and derailleur from damage and overload..
- Damages at the seat tube because the seat post has been pulled out too far out of the seat tube.
- On all YT Industries bikes the seat post must only be pulled out to an extent that the lower end still overlaps with the bottom edge of the top tube.
