Monster Energy Session: Niki Leitner tests YT bikes in Barcelona

In addition to his current partners adidas, YT Industries, POC and Pancho Wheels, Vienna-born Niki Leitner is now sponsored by Monster Energy. At Lapoma bike park outside Barcelona this is considered normal. “In such a great atmosphere and such a cool park any winter blues dissipates immediately”, Niki Leitner says with a big smile on his face. “Being sponsored by Monster Energy, in addition to all my other great partners, gave me a huge thrust of motivation. I wanted to go riding straight away. However, where I live that’s not really possible at the moment. So my cousin who is a great videographer and I decided to fly to Barcelona for one week for some intense training and bike testing. By the way, my new YT bikes are fantastic”, the Austrian raves.
That the new YT Romp and Play models are perfect in Niki’s eyes may be due to the fact that he was largely involved in the further development of the bikes through his feedback. “A lot of my input went into the new Romp”, says Niki. “Working with YT Industries is amazing. They are really listening and responding to us riders. You cannot build these bikes any better than this. I’ve got nothing to complain about.”
The 25-year-old is also excited about the relationship with his new partner Monster Energy. “They are so easy-going. I am really looking forward to the upcoming season and happy that Monster Energy also supports my Dirtgarden project.”
However, the short trip to Spain had one minor flaw. On his last day in Barcelona Niki wanted to ride a little session before his departure to the airport. While doing a superman seatgrab he was caught by a gust of wind and crashed. Fortunately he didn’t have any severe injuries, but he couldn’t start at this year’s White Style contest in Leogang…
